- Abstract
- Defence Research & Development Canada (DRDC) has, for several years now, been investigating methods to augment or enhance existing shipboard Command and Control System (CCS) capabilities. As part of this investigation, 11bm Applied Research Project (ARP) focuses on the naval combat resource management in the context of Above Water Warfare (AWW). The project, a summary of which is presented in this report, has explored concepts concerned with the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a computer-based, real-time decision support system that could be integrated into the future Canadian platforms to assist operators in conducting tactical Command and Control (C2), particularly for combat resource management. The project resulted in a list of achievements, which includes scientific publications, algorithms, software tools, and recommendations for follow-on work. It has also provided inputs to several projects, including INCOMMANDS and SISWS Technology Demonstration Projects (TDPs).
