Abstract
Spectral lines have long been treated as having Lorentz profiles. This is now known to be incorrect and recent applications require the use of correct profiles. A technique is described in the report for finding the profiles for CO2 molecules in the 4.3 mu band. In the course of the work errors were found in the AFCRL Absorption Line Parameter Compilation and are discussed. Profiles were obtained for self-broadened and nitrogen-broadened CO2 lines for application in atmospheric transmission calculations.
