Abstract
At the request of DLFR, D Log A carried out a study of the feasibility of using automatic data processing as an aid in the scaling function. An initial test computer program was written in FORTRAN and was documented in reference 1. It was apparent that a considerable saving in manual clerical work and time could be achieved using such a program. Further discussion with DP Sup S and DLFR suggested that the original program could be enhanced in order to provide a useful automatic tool in the initial provisioning process.
