Abstract
A method for computing the sample size, the rejection number and the maximum test time each unit of equipment is to be tested is developed in this note. The method is non-parametric and is applicable to the design of testing plans where the underlying failure times distribution has a monotone increasing failure rate function. Results are tabulated for various values of both the consumer's and producer's risks as well as for commonly used discrimination ratios.
