Abstract
The hydrodynamic interaction between two ships operating in close proximity is of some importance for underway replenishment or lightering analysis. It is known that the motions of the ships together can be vastly different than the motions of the ships alone. This report outlines the various solutions to the hydrodynamic interaction problem and suggests implementations that use analysis tools developed for single ship seakeeping prediction.
