Abstract
The electromagnetic scattering from perfectly conducting, dielectric and coated bodies of revolution is computed using the moment method technique. The Electric Field Integral Equation is used to formulate the problem and the corresponding equations are solved numerically. A numerical code is developed, tested and verified. A series of measurements were carried out at MPBT electromagnetic measurement facility in Ottawa for coated and uncoated perfectly conducting cylinders. The measured values are compared with the computed results. Satisfactory agreements are achieved for cylinder sizes up to 6 lambda. The accuracy, convergence and range of applicability of the numerical code are investigated by computing the extinction coefficients as function of number of expansion basis function at various size parameters and dielectric constants.
