Abstract
The separation and identification of individual aromatic hydrocarbons in a mixture of air contaminants are described for an investigation that was carried out on samples of air-borne dust collected in Windsor as part of the Windsor-Detroit air pollution investigaton. Samples were collected on fiber glass filters or from the air intake of an air-conditioning system. The polynuclear aromatics thus far identified in this way comprise pyrene, fluoranthene, benz(a)anthracene, chrysene, and benzo(e)pyrene.
