Abstract
This is the first report under contract 141OFE62 between DREO and RMC. It contains the work of simulating the downlink DBPSK system, as part of the EHF-SATCOM project. The main finding is that the simulation results agree with the theoretical and confirm those simulations performed independently by Raytheon Co., with one exception. In the case of soft-decoding DBPSK, both Raytheon and our simulation produce probability of errors P sub e that exceed the theoretical upper bound, with our P sub b slightly higher than Raytheon's. An extensive listing of the programs and block diagrams is included. These are quire detailed so that this report's results can be reproduced by another party working on the same software. Accompanying this report is a tape containing all the programs.
