Abstract
Electron spin resonance detection has been made of ozonide ion (O3-) and another unidentified species (X) formed during anodic oxygen evolution in concentrated KOH solutions at low temperature. The relative amounts observed depend on the metal used for the anode. New insight into the mechanism of oxygen evolution results.
