Abstract
Gas phase deactivation has been investigated and rate constants for benzene and oxygen of 5.3 x 10 power -18 and 2.17 x 10 power -18 cubic centemeter per molecule per second respectively have been measured. Deactivation by nitrogen is much slower and an upper limit of 3 x 10 power-21 was obtained.
