Abstract
The kinetic equation, derived in the proceeding paper I and describing combined Doppler and binary collision broadening is examined. A series solution is developed for the case of an isolated spectral line which, to first order in the density, is Lorentzian under appropriate conditions. The general solution retains the effects of non-instantaneous collisions and binary collision correlations. An approximation for the collision terms of the kinetic equation is also proposed.
