Abstract
In preparation for atomic absorption analysis, all categories of wrought and foundry aluminum alloys can be completely dissolved with a single solvent, consisting of a mixture of hydrochloric, nitric and hydrofluoric acids, in an acid digestion bomb. In particular, high-silicon alloys (up to 20%) which have previously proven difficult, are readily dissolved.
