Abstract
The implementation of a recently proposed inversion scheme for the scattering of acoustic plane waves by a layered ocean bottom is described. As a result of applying the forward scattering approximation to a local wave decomposition of the acoustic field, the reflection coefficient is obtained as a nonlinear Fourier transform of the logarithmic derivative of admittance.
