Abstract
The state of affairs of Canadian industrial involvement in national defence R&D activities is examined. Along with the role played by industry, a brief look is also taken of the reasons why DND influence on industry R&D has been lessening with time. The potential impact on DND of decreasing defence industrial R&D involvement is briefly considered as well.
