Abstract
Binders with improved high temperature stability for explosive binder applications were sought by the transformation of the isocyanate cure of polyoxypropylene glycols into an epoxy cure. Low and high molecular weight diols or triols were reacted with epichlorhydrine to yield di- or triepoxides. Commercial epoxides fractioned by molecular distillation and analyzed by Gel Permeation Chromatography were shown to be a mixture of different molecular weight fractions.
