A METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE TRUE POSITION OF A PARTICLE IN SPACE FROM RADIOGRAPHIC DATA

Abstract
Flash radiography was employed to study the cone collapse process in detonating shaped charges. Data reduction procedures required to correct raw radiographic data for distortion introduced by the geometry of the X-ray installation are detailed. The method used to determine cone collapse profiles can be adapted to locate the true position of an object moving between the X-ray sources and their associated film planes at the time its image was recorded on the radiographs.
