Abstract
The paper covers some of the progress of on-going work to develop a computerized system for handling information on the world's military inventories. Particular attention is given to THE MILITARY BALANCE of the International Institute for Strategic Studies as a prime candidate for at least partial computerization. General aims and problems are examined as well as an extensive presentation on organizing naval information for computerization. The detailed discussion of naval information is included as a specific application of general principles that it is expected can also be applied to air, land and aerospace information.
