Abstract
The report is the most recent in a series analyzing the influence upon motivation and morale of the regimental system, with particular reference to the Canadian Army. It examines the influence of esprit de corps and of regimental pride on motivation and behaviour in both war and peace, and assesses its contribution to military effectiveness. A subsequent report will assess the impact of the regimental system on group and unit cohesion.
