Abstract
The present paper reports the X-ray crystal structures of 1:2 host-guest complexes of cyclohexano-15-crown-5 with lithium and sodium phenoxides and of 15-crown-5 with sodium phenoxide. Over the last few years, we have studied several crown ether complexes that exhibit unusual host-guest ratios and have shown that the resulting structural characteristics and stoichiometry were a result of concerted host, guest, anion, and solvent effects. The X-ray crystal structure analyses of many of these complexes have been reported. This paper is part of an investigation of the structural characteristics of these complexes.
