Abstract
The vector difference between the upper wind velocities obtained from the observation of two ballloons rleased simultaneously about 4 miles apart has been analysed statistically for various heights up to 20,000 feet above ground level. The results suggest that for artillery calibration strong winds and unstable air should be avoided, particularly when the maximum height of the shell trajectory is below 4,000 feet.
