Abstract
Specifications for a new operability assessment program SHIPOP (SHIP OPerability) are presented. The new program is designed to take advantage of recent improvements in the spectral description of directional wave climates and in the state-of-the-art in seakeeping criteria. Another new feature of the code will be the inclusion of wind effects on helicopters and personnel.
