Abstract
An anthropometric survey was made of approximately 1000 Canadian soldiers. Two newly designed instruments were used to obtain oriented data of facial contours and dimensions. Patterns based on analysis of the survey data were used to produce prototype respirators which were tested by small scale use in the Canadian Arctic and by fitting to another sample of approximately 1000 Canadian soldiers.
