Abstract
As the result of a request to develop a tourniquet suitable for use in all-weather operations by the individual soldier, a rubber strap with slots and anchor pins was developed which operates satisfactorily down to -40F. Tests by the U.S. Army Test Board No. 2 indicate that the tourniquet is acceptable for field and base hospital use but that it is not completely satisfactory for one hand manipulation by the individual soldier.
