DESCRIPTION OF A DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM FOR THE MEASUREMENTS OF EMP TRANSIENT FIELDS

Abstract
Describes a data acquisition system developed at DREO for the measurements of very fast transient electromagnetic fields generated during EMP testing. The system consists of several high speed transient digitizers, all connected to a personal computer. It has the capability to simultaneously record on several channels the response of single-shot events. The overall system is controlled by a master program calledDAQ. DAQ can control a number of digitizers simultaneously, allowing automation of part of the measurement process. The data transferred tothe PC is automatically bound with related information such as: experiment description, setup information (sensor, cable, attenuator, and instrument used), digitizers parameters, and data processing. DAQ can archive and retrieve the results of a large number of experiments. TRUNCATED
