Abstract
The report summarizes the efforts of a development program to design and build a hermetically sealed pressure header ITTC P/N CE9446-290 to be used in the Towed Array pressure vessel electronic canister. The Header development program was undertaken due to the persistent problem of provision of miniature pressure vessel canister lids having upto 40 feedthru electrical contacts. The Headers and associated canisters are used to hold expensive miniature electronics. The present method of dealing with the problem involves the use of insulation displacement connectors potted into slots cut in canister lids. This is a timeconsuming process and has a high failure rate due to pressure withstanding capability.
