Abstract
A Digital Signal Processing Testbed is being developed to provide a platform for the development of Spread Spectrum Signal Excision algorithms. The testbed performs real-time acquisition and signal excision on the acquired data. It also provides a post-processing capability for algorithm evaluation. The system is to be implemented using the VME-C30 boards from Applied Silicon Inc. Canada, installed in a SUN workstation. The proposed design of the real-time portion of the system is analysed with respect to general system structure, host/VME-C30 communications, inter-VME-C30 communications and task distribution. Specific recommendations are made in these areas as well as testbed extensibility and future enhancements.
