Abstract
The purpose of this technical memorandum is two-fold. Firstly, it documents the technical details behind recent improvements to the D.R.E.P. three-dimensional acoustic scattering computer code based on a recently-published Boundry Integral Equation Method. These improvements include (i) the capability of handling layered sound speed profiles, (ii) allowance for modeling horizontal attenuation based on perturbation methods, and (iii) use of higher-order integration rules in both approximating the integral equation, and in computing subsequent pressures. Secondly, it contains more detailed information on the methods used for handling the singularities which arise in the integral equation solution. A companion technical memorandum documents the code itself, together with relevant user information.
