Abstract
The Network Simulator is a tool designed to allow the operator to easily prototype the interfaces and message passing within a large system. Conceived to aid in the validation and refinement of the preliminary design for EWCAC, it is generic enough that it may be used to study other types of network problems. The simulation allows an intensive examination of a preliminary system design, enabling the identification and elimination of any weak points, such as bottlenecks or potential deadlocks, before proceeding with the detailed design. It is capable of collecting statistics that permit studying the message throughput, processing speed requirements, and information storage requirements for each component of the design.
