- Abstract
- Under the auspices of TTCP-PTP5 and in collaboration with the Composites Group of DREP a simulated CF-18 component (Door 79) has been constructed for a nondestructive evalatuion study. During the manufacturing process, this component was subjected to treatment with the purpose of inducing damage into the composite material in a known and well defined manner. This simulated component will be circulated amongst participating members of the TTCP-PTP5 Operating Assignment round robin on "Evaluation of Field UT Methods for Gr/Ep Laminates". It is the purpose of this report to document the inspection and analysis results obtained using the SPUD data acquisition device in conjunction with the data analysis software known as DETECT/NDE for the field inspection of this simulated CF-18 component.
