Abstract
The report summarizes our findings on the potential to adapt low cost GPS receivers to provide heading data for use by unmanned vehicles. Discussed within the analysis of requirments section are the characteristics of a GPS receiver suitable for a position and heading determining application. A thorough review of existing literature on heading determination using GPS was made. Reviewed ar the current GPS receivers in production and their suitability to this application. The feasibility of using the existing GPS assets (Magnavox MX 4818 and Magnavox MX 4200) is discussed.
