Abstract
The report summarises work carried out by the DND Electrochemistry Group, which is located at the University of Ottawa, during the period April 1990 to March 1993. Major Tasks and projects during this period included: performance, environmental and safety studies on non-rechargeable lithium/sulphur dioxide batteries for the Chemical Agent Monitor, Personal Locator Beacon and Crash Position Indicator; the rejuvenation of lead-acid batteries for the CF-18; failure analysis of lead-acid batteries for the CF; and research into compound vanadium oxides for use in rechargeable lithium batteries.
