Abstract
This article will focus on more recent findings concerning some selected skeletal muscle cell responses to acute stimuli in the form of a strength training session, as well as the morphological and neuromuscular adaptations to specific types of strength training sessions. In additon, a brief review of recent literature documenting the effects of combining strength and endurance training will also be presented.
