Abstract
The report contains details of tests and experiments performed under a DSS contract to characterize a real-time neutron radiography (RTNR) system for DREP. The contents may be summarized as follows: an introduction to the theory and principles of RTNR; a discussion of basic image processing methods, with emphasis on those used in the current work; tests and results performed to examine the camera performance, with respect to linearity; noise; response to radiation other than neutrons; low intensity testing; contrast and resolution limits; applications, including defect resolution; penetrant enhancement; corrosion; composite materials; turbine blades; dynamic imaging; conclusions and recommendations.
