Abstract
Describes work performed on VASGEN, the VAST general purpose finite element model generation program which is based on a parametric cubic modelling technique. The geometric modelling capabilities have been enhanced through the addition of new features such as a cubic spline modelling system; intrinsic interpolation for curves; patch division and blending capabilities; and triangular patch and wedge hyperpatch generation. Several finite element modeling improvements have also been made. Among the most notable are the capabilities to generate stress point locations for the general beam element; and to link independent PREFX.GOM files togeather.
