PREDICTION OF THE MODES OF A MULTI-BLADE MONOBLOC PROPELLER WITH SHAFT BY FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

Abstract
The analysis of a five bladed monobloc propeller mounted on a stube shaft is described. The analysis was carried out using the finite element program VAST and a Floating Point Systems array processor in conjunction with a VAX 6420. Results were obtained for in-air vibration modes which are compared with experimental results obtained from the propeller. The effect of model boundary conditions and shaft length have also been evaluated.
