Abstract
An accurate efficient numerical scheme based on the numerical conformal mapping and the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation is developed. The singular behaviour in the region around crack tips of plates is removed. Some numerical results with applications on the stress intensity computation in elastostatics in a simply-connected domain are provided to demonstrate the improvement of the solution over other numerical methods.
