EVALUATION OF THE TASCFLOW SYSTEM FOR DRES APPLICATIONS

Abstract
TASCflow was used to approximate the cooling flow around a turbine engine inside a drone vehicle. The flow between the turbine engine and the drone shroud was modelled as two-dimensional axisymmetric. Since the interior of the drone was not axisymmetric, two cases were originally modelled: one case to model the flow through the narrowest section of the drone interior and a second to model the flow through the widest section. Based on the results of the two cases, a third case was modelled with a modified shroud. The predicted entrained mass flow in a fifteen degree slice of the drone was of the order of E-3 kg s(1-).
