Abstract
In this report, the theoretical and practical issues involved in simulating multipath from sea swell surfaces are extended and refined leading to a currently functional sea swell model. Consistent behaviour is observed regarding null location and spacing, and the interference pattern is seen to be a function of sea state as well as grid resolution. The report also features analysis of experimental data obtained from the Lake Huron trials of Fall 1987. This data, as well as that obtained at the Lake Ontario site during Fall 1988 trials, may be used in future validation of the described sea swell model.
