Abstract
This report describes the decommissioning of Building 17, a storage facility for toxic chemicals. The decommissioning process, from its planning stage to the final stage of a clean empty building has been detailed. The planning phase addressed the health and safety concerns and the achievable level of cleanliness of Buidling 17. The actual decommissioning then followed, paying particular attention to monitoring of chemicals and the verification that none exists at the detection limit of the equipment employed.
