Abstract
The purpose of this study was to simulate numerically the process of dispersion in the atmosphere of large quantities of LNG vapour (heavy gas) emitted after an accidient, and to provide the results of computation of concentration distribution as a function of space and time for the given set of initial and boundary conditions. This report contains the results of computation in numerical and graphical form of the time history of the development of the LNG concentration, temperature, and flow field. After a brief explanation of the physical background of the given problem, described are the main aspects of our numerical approach, such as computational grid, boundary and initial conditions and the main features of the TASCflow software relevant for the solution of this problem.
