Abstract
The Directorate of Logistics Analysis (D Log) was asked to facilitate an evaluation of the alternative disposal methods. A consensus development method was applied to three Working Group meetings. This method involved the application of the Consensus Decision Support Package (CDSP) and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). The three working groups preferred different options; the NDHQ group preferred the Government Agency because of its Probity; the Depot Group preferred the Private Industry option because of its Timeliness; and the Base Level Group preferred a Mixed option that allowed them to control the disposal method depending on the asset being considered. If only one option were to be chosen, we would suggest the Mixed option but we recommend that this option be trialed first.
