Abstract
This report is the fourth in a series of reports which summarizes the data collected on the primary reserves by the Directorate of Social and Economic Analysis. The focus of this report is on factors influencing attrition. Reservists who plan to stay in the reserves and those who plan to leave the reserves are readily differentiated on the basis of their demographic characteristics and reasons for joining the reserves. Implications of attrition from an organizational and a societal context are discussed.
