Abstract
This document describes the preliminary design for the interface between the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and the Testbed in the Space-Based Radar (SBR) Signal Processing Demonstrator (SPD). The SPD is a laboratory-based computer system for the demonstration and validation of SBR signal processing algorithms and real-time digital signal processing hardware. The signal processing demonstrator is organized into two principle subsystems: a DSP subsystem which implements selected signal processing configurations in real-time, and Testbed subsystem which controls and operates DSP. The purpose of this preliminary design is to describe the information flow and transactions between the two subsystems, including: software interfaces, hardware interfaces, data elements, message identification, interface priorities and protocols.
