Abstract
A contract has been granted to CGI Inc. for the completion of a research project on a requirements specification and tracking methodology (RSTM). The two main objectives of this project were to evaluate and to implement a methodology and some tools for the capturing of requirements; and to evaluate and implement software tools for the tracing of requirements along the evolution of a prototype. In order to achieve these objectives, three tasks were undertaken: 1) the analysis and identification of the functionalities of three existing prototypes which have been developed to support some of the Air Transport Group (Air Command Airlift Scheduler prototype, Transport Aircraft Loading and Balancing System prototype, and Transport Aircrew Scheduling prototype); 2) the development activities; and 3) the evaluation of existing commercial tools supporting the requirements capture and tracking process. The report represents the main document of this contract and provides the results of the second task. The results of the first and third task are presented under separate cover as Appendix D and C to this document.
