Abstract
The report describes some enhancements of VAST which improve its capabilities for predicting the transmission of structure borne noise and vibration originating from shipboard machinery. A direct frequency response analysis capability was incorporated. A frequency dependent damping and stiffness property capability was provided to allow modelling of viscoelastic on various structural components by making damping specifications for element groups. These predictive capabilities are important in the isolation and control of noise and vibration onboard ships.
