Abstract
The interior dimensions and control locations in the cockpit of the KIOWA helicopter were examined with relation to the known size range of the user population. Certain cockpit dimensions were found to limit the size of aircrew who could operate safely and efficiently in this workspace. The percentages of Canadian Forces aircrew who are affected by the limiting dimensions were calculated. A total of thirty-five per cent of all serving aircrew will be affected by one or more anthropometric limitation(s). Modifications to the workspace which could reduce the number of pilots affected by these anthropometric limitations are discussed.
