CALIBRATION PROCEDURES FOR PNEUMATIC ANALOGUE DECOMPRESSION COMPUTERS

Abstract
The Kidd-Stubbs pneumatic analogue decompression computer is used for the real-time prediction of the safe ascent depth of a diver exposed to pressure. Calibration procedures for the pneumatic section of the computer are described for two types of operational computers, the Mark VIS pneumatic-mechanical computer and the hybrid pneumatic-electronic computer. Experimental calibration data are presented for these computers as well as the tolerance levels of the calibration parameter derived from the theoretical decompression model.
