Abstract
The report covers the medical aspects of Canadian Forces Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) for the period 1 Dec 72 to 1 Jul 73. Special reference is made to exercise 'Long Leap' in which 8 CF5A fighters and two CC-137 tankers deployed to Royal Norwegian Flying Station Andoya. The general medical aspects of the paper include reports on the personnel supports facilities at Andoya and describes the accomodation, messing, recreation and medical facilities. Aeromedical factors such as inflight feeding, fluid replenishment and a new micturition fact are described in detail. The use of immersion suits, a potential disorientation phenomena and the use of drugs are also discussed.
