Abstract
The present study was undertaken to follow the progress of the formation of annealing textures in an alloy with somewhat higher SFE2 to get away from the confusing effects of so many annealing twins, but one with a low enough SFE to produce the 'brass-type' deformation structure. An AISI 310 stainless steel was chosen because of its stable fcc characteristics when severely deformed.
