Abstract
The paper summarizes the electron fractographic work carried out at DREP during the past three years on 250 ksi 18% Ni maraging steel. Fracture toughness, tensile and fatigue specimens subjected to stresses in air and in seawater are examined. The study is centred on fractures resulting from stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement.
